Biology- Cloning

Cloning is the process of producing new individuals from a single parent by means of mitosis.
Asexual reproduction is an example of cloning which occurs naturally.
Figure below shows the process of cloning using sheep to produce the new clone.


We provide more figures as if students will more understand the concept of cloning in producing a new clone. You can enlarge the picture to see them clearly.




Advantages of cloning:
1. produce a large number of young plant in short time
2. Output or products will increased
3. Prevents endangered species form extinction

Disadvantages of cloning:
1. Does not show genetic variation
2. have the same level of resistance towards certain diseases
3. Prevent the process of natural selection
4. The clones cannot survive if the external environment change.
